… drift by the windows … the autumn leaves of red and gold … ah, fall is here again, I hope you guys have a fun mid-autumn festival. You did remember to celebrate it right? Anyway, back to business. In trying to beat the holiday rush, we have have kicked our projects into high gears. With some luck, we should have 1 or 2 new working projects for you to feast your eyes and ears upon (depending on your access level) by Christmas time, so that you won’t be bored during the break. Yes, we’re that considerate. Unfortunately it’s mean more works for us. Anyone care to buy me a case of RedBull?
If things go according to plans, we should be able to give a selected few a sneak peak at the current project during its alpha stage sometimes during the Halloween weekend.
While back at the ranch … we have removed the trailer section, it is now parted of the reviews/previews section. The traditional news section had also been replaced by system that pull feeds from several websites. This way, it will be more up-to-date since we don’t really have time to update them manually any more. If you have some better websites with newsfeeds that you want to consider, let us know.

… where the @#$& are the updates? … Sorry for the lack of updates guys, we’ve been so busy for the past few months that some of you might think that we’ve dropped off the face of the earth. Anyway … this is going to be a long post … so, if you have some time … make sure you read everything. Let’s start with the current state of affair.
As you might have noticed that our site was barely crawling along during the early summer (June and July) and most often time it’s unresponsive. This is basically due to the fact that the server is processing more than 400 requests at once. At once point we have to hard reset the server twice in 3-days period, and restarted the server twice in one night. It was a real pain since the server was unresponsive so issuing a restart command take up to 30 minutes before it was initialized. Since then, we’ve disabled some of the auxiliary features to try to squeeze out as much resource as possible. Of course, with the current rate of increase we will need a better server before long. Anyway, the server seemed to be a bit more stable now, so let’s see how long that will last. Remember, this is a beta project … therefore, things will be broken at times. That’s why there a beta badge on the logo … it’s there for a reason. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s one month after the server move, and look like we were not able to generate enough support to pay the monthly fee. Hopefully, we will be able to reach our goal next month. If not, we will be forced to move back to the other server, and run on limited resources. For those of you who are with us for awhile now, you know what a problem it was. If you are new here, check out the archives, you’ll get some ideas. Either that or we have to make it private. We don’t want to, but we can’t run on empty. Read the rest of this entry »
